Smash's Offspring Page

Info about 'em
The Offspring hail from Garden Grove,CA. Dexter met Greg through their high school Cross Country team. They both attended Pacifica High School. The formed a band one day, and Dexter and Greg learned how to play the guitar on their own. Their first band was called Manic Subsidal. Ron Welty wasn't their original drummer. They had another one, but that guy never showed up. So Dexter let Ron try out for them. Ron is the youngest of the band members. With Noodles being the oldest. They released their first album as The Offspring in 1989. Only 5000 copies exist of it. It's called The Offspring. By the release of their second album, Ignition, they were pretty well known in their area. When Smash took off in 1995, they re-recorded The Offspring. The band went on tour to support the growing success of Smash. In 1997, they released Ixnay on the Hombre. This album was quite different then Smash. It tended to sound more like Van Halen.
Offspring Updates
After the wrap up of the Ixnay tour, The Offspring are going into the studio to record a new album. They hope to release it by the end of the year. It is supposed to be more like Ignition. Their last live show will be on April 26 at the Cox Arena in San Diego, CA. They will be playing with Blink 182, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Unwritten Law, and a bunch of other bands.
